I am committed to continue to lead on the development of the Climate Action Plan for the city that I proposed back in early June pushing for innovative, equitable job creation including a small business incubator and entrepreneurship for all initiatives and continuing to advocate for our working families by funding our city schools for greater equity, including early childhood education and child care initiatives, enabling even more of our families to get back to work, especially Norwalk women who disproportionately were affected with job loss and taking time out for intergenerational care work during the pandemic. I bring a mix of energy and enthusiasm, fresh ideas and new ways of thinking, along with demonstrated experience as an at-large member of the council this past term.
What do you hope to bring to the council in and how would you maintain or change current policies? This is why I would like to see the small business pop-up shop initiative on Washington Street not only continue but be strategically expanded. I think our downtown areas (South Norwalk and Wall Street) face distinct challenges coming out of the COVID pandemic and our small businesses continue to need support and we need to develop new opportunities as we recover from the economic impacts of the pandemic. Do you think the downtown area is healthy and successful? If not, what would you do to change that?
