Maybe you weren't paying attention to video games in 2008, but Burnout Paradise was an adrenaline needle jabbed right into the heart of racing games when it was released, perfecting a number of ideas that were growing in popularity at the time and adding a few of its own.
But following that, it certainly redefined what we needed to be as a studio.' ' I think Paradise has a fond place in our hearts as a studio-not necessarily through the development process, because that was really hard. 'I think we just said, 'It's about time we remastered this,'' said Matt Webster, General Manager at Criterion Games and a producer on Burnout Paradise, with a laugh when I asked about the decision to bring the game back.
Burnout Paradise, however, is not something to be embarrassed about liking-if anything, it's embarrassing to see how damn good it still is compared to most modern racing games, something anyone with an Xbox One or Playstation 4 will be able to see now that the game has been re-released as Burnout Paradise Remastered. There are a lot of embarrassing things about the person I was ten years ago, but one of the bigger ones was the fact that I liked the Killswitch Engage song ' My Curse'-not because I liked Killswitch Engage, but because I liked video games, and 'My Curse' was on the Burnout Paradise soundtrack.
